General Questions

How do online Quran classes work?
Classes are live, one-on-one sessions via Zoom. You and your teacher connect at your scheduled time — you can see and hear each other clearly. The teacher teaches, demonstrates, and corrects your recitation in real time, exactly like an in-person lesson. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a stable internet connection.
What age can children start online Quran classes?
We accept children from age 4. Young children (ages 4–5) begin with Arabic letter recognition in short, engaging 20–25 minute sessions. Full Noorani Qaida lessons typically begin at age 5–6. There is no upper age limit — adult beginners are always welcome at any age.
Can adults learn Quran online?
Absolutely. Many of our students are adults — some learning to read Arabic for the first time, others improving their Tajweed or starting Hifz. Our teachers adapt their approach for adult learners. There is no age limit and no embarrassment — every scholar started as a beginner.
Is the first class really free — no hidden charges?
Yes — completely free. No payment, no credit card, no commitment required. Your first class is a real lesson with your assigned certified teacher. You meet them, experience the quality, and then decide whether to continue. We earn your enrollment through quality, not lock-in.
Do you offer classes for both kids and adults?
Yes. We offer tailored programs for all ages. Children's classes use engaging, interactive, age-appropriate methods with patient teachers. Adult classes are structured around busy schedules and life commitments. Whether you are 4 or 64, we have the right teacher and program for you.
Which countries do you serve?
We serve students in 130+ countries. Our primary markets are the USA (all 50 states), UK, Canada, and Australia. Because classes are online via Zoom, any student with internet access anywhere in the world can enroll. All four US time zones are fully covered.

Teachers & Certification

Are your Quran teachers certified?
Yes. Every teacher at Quran Scholars holds Ijazah — a formal certification in Quran recitation passed through an unbroken scholarly chain going back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. All teachers are thoroughly vetted, background-checked, and reviewed before teaching their first student.
Can I choose a female Quran teacher?
Yes. We have fully certified female Quran teachers available for sisters and girls at every level — from Noorani Qaida to Tajweed, Hifz, Tafseer, Arabic, and Islamic Studies. Simply select "Female Teacher Preferred" when registering and we match you the same day in most cases.
What is Ijazah certification?
Ijazah is a formal authorization in Quran recitation — a written certificate that names your teacher, their teacher, and the entire chain of transmission going back through an unbroken line of scholars to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. A teacher who holds Ijazah is verified as a qualified, certified Quran scholar. All our teachers hold this certification.
Can I change my teacher if I am not satisfied?
Yes. If for any reason you are not comfortable with your assigned teacher — whether the teaching style, communication, or any other reason — simply contact us and we will match you with a new teacher immediately, at no charge.
Are sessions private and secure?
Yes. All sessions are private, one-on-one via Zoom. No other students are present. For sisters and girls learning with female teachers, there is no male presence in the session at all. Sessions are fully private and conducted from the comfort of your own home.

Courses & Programs

What courses do you offer?
We offer eight programs: Noorani Qaida (for complete beginners), Quran Reading with Tajweed, Quran Memorization (Hifz), Online Tafseer Classes, Quranic Arabic Course, Islamic Studies for Kids (ages 4–15), Ijazah Program (advanced certification), and dedicated Quran Classes for Kids with child-friendly teaching methods.
What is Noorani Qaida and who is it for?
Noorani Qaida is the world's most widely used beginner's guide to reading the Quran. It teaches the Arabic alphabet, vowels, letter combinations, and basic Tajweed rules — giving students the foundation to read the Quran correctly from scratch. It is the correct starting point for any beginner, whether a child of 4 or an adult who has never read Arabic before.
What is Tajweed and why does it matter?
Tajweed is the set of rules governing how the Quran is recited correctly — proper pronunciation of every letter from its correct point of articulation (Makhraj), elongation of vowels (Madd), nasal sounds (Ghunna), merging (Idgham), and stopping (Waqf). Reciting with Tajweed is obligatory (Fard) according to Islamic scholars. It ensures the Quran is recited as it was revealed and as the Prophet ﷺ recited it.
How long does it take to memorize the Quran (Hifz)?
It depends on session frequency and daily practice outside of class. Students with 5 classes per week and consistent daily revision typically complete Hifz in 3–5 years. Students with 2–3 classes per week and good daily practice may take 5–7 years. Our teachers build a personalized memorization schedule based on your pace, lifestyle, and goals.
How do I earn the Ijazah certification?
To earn Ijazah, you must first have memorized the complete Quran (all 30 Juz) with correct Tajweed. You then recite the entire Quran to your certified Ijazah teacher — multiple times, across many sessions — until the teacher is satisfied that your recitation meets the required standard. You then receive a written Ijazah certificate with the complete chain of transmission. The program typically takes 1–2 years for qualified students.
What does Islamic Studies for Kids cover?
Our Islamic Studies curriculum for children covers: the Six Kalimas (with meaning and understanding), how to pray Salah correctly (all postures, recitations, and meanings), Masnoon Duas for daily life (morning, evening, before eating, sleeping, and more), the life of the Prophet ﷺ (Seerah), basic Aqeedah (the six pillars of Iman), and Islamic manners and values for daily life in America.

Pricing & Plans

How much do online Quran classes cost?
We offer four plans: Starter ($29/month, 2 classes/week), Standard ($35/month, 3 classes/week), Intensive ($40/month, 5 classes/week), and Weekend ($29/month, 2 weekend classes). All plans include live 1-on-1 sessions, your choice of male or female teacher, flexible scheduling, and monthly progress reports. The first class is always free.
Can I cancel or change my plan at any time?
Yes. There are no long-term contracts or commitments. You can upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel your plan at any time. We believe in earning your continued enrollment through consistent quality — not locking you into contracts.
Are there any additional or hidden fees?
No. The monthly fee is all-inclusive — it covers your live sessions, teacher matching, progress reports, and all course materials. There are no registration fees, no material fees, and no hidden charges. The price you see is the price you pay.
Do you offer discounts for multiple children?
Yes. Families enrolling multiple children receive a discount. Please contact us at info@qscholars.com or call +1 917 619 6970 to discuss family pricing. We want to make quality Quran education accessible for the whole family.

Technical & Scheduling

What equipment do I need for online Quran classes?
You need a device with a camera and microphone — a smartphone, tablet, or laptop/computer all work. You need a stable internet connection and the free Zoom app installed. That is all. No special equipment or software is required. Most families use an iPad or laptop.
Do you cover all US time zones?
Yes. We serve all four US time zones — Eastern (EST), Central (CST), Mountain (MST), and Pacific (PST). Teachers are available from early morning through late evening to accommodate families across all 50 states. Weekend slots are also available for families with busy weekday schedules.
What happens if I miss a class?
Life happens. If you need to miss a class, simply inform your teacher in advance. Makeup classes can be arranged at a convenient time. We are flexible and understand that family schedules are busy — especially for families in the USA balancing school, work, and activities.
How quickly can I get started after registering?
In most cases, within 24 hours. After you register for your free trial, we match you with a certified teacher based on your subject, level, gender preference, and time zone. We send you a Zoom link for your first class. Most families have their first session the same day or the next day.
How are progress reports delivered?
Monthly progress reports are sent by email. They include your teacher's assessment of your progress, areas of strength, areas needing improvement, and goals for the next month. This keeps parents informed about their child's Quran journey and holds both teacher and student accountable.
